Communication Project Officer
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Communication Project Officer (m/f) to handle communication for some of our key projects.
In these projects, ELO is tasked with leading on communication, dissemination, and exploitation tasks, as well as other project-related tasks. This refers to taking the research that is being done by project partners from across the continent and communicating it to a wider group of both specific and general audiences. This includes mainly online forms of communication (website, social media, etc.) but also physical forms (distribution of leaflets, presentations, etc.), which involve combining the understanding of scientific research with communication skills (targeted writing, basic graphic design, etc.).
Job Purpose
The Communication Project Officer works as part of the project team(s), ensuring that the tasks of the projects are delivered to the highest standards.
Job Description
The position is based in Brussels and covers the following tasks:
- Support the project team(s) in their respective tasks within their associated projects;
- Ensure deliverables are submitted to the highest standards;
- Manage internal and external expectations;
- Secure a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders;
- Secure a positive and professional image of ELO;
Profile
- University degree in communication, EU policy, and/or relevant experience;
- Native English speaker and equivalently good knowledge of at least a second EU language;
- Interest in the EU environment, sustainability, and agricultural dynamics;
- Flexibility, creativity, and taking initiative;
- Experience in social media curation;
- Experience using basic graphic design and editing tools;
- Good organization, rigorous attention to detail;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Team player, commercially-oriented, self-starter, deadline-driven;
- Outstanding writing skills;
- Understanding of budgets and financials;
- Knowledge of IPR and data management;
- Knowledge of business plan development;
Depending on experience, the contract may start immediately or follow an internship period.
