Safeguard Buzzing Table: Protecting and Restoring Pollinators in Agricultural Ecosystems
25 February 2026 │10:30 to 12:00 CET │On site and online │Respace, Rue de Trèves 74 – 1040 Brussels
This Safeguard Buzzing Table is a stakeholder consultation dedicated to exploring how wild pollinators and agriculture can thrive together while safeguarding biodiversity, food security, and resilient ecosystems.
Building on the insights of the Safeguard findings, this session will examine how the EU existing policies affect/shape pollinator-friendly practices and will look ahead to emerging opportunities and barriers. The event will gather farmers, policymakers, and researchers to foster practical, collaborative approaches to pollinator-friendly agriculture and to define shared pathways and positive actionable steps for pollinators recovery.
The Buzzing Table is part of the Safeguard hybrid workshop, “Transforming landscapes with pollinator research: Safeguard workshop on pollinator-friendly land management”, jointly organised with IEEP, which holds a session in the afternoon.

About Safeguard

Safeguard is an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project that started in September 2021 and ends in February 2026. It brings together researchers, NGOs and policy experts to contribute to Europe’s capacity to reverse the loss of wild pollinators, through increasing our understanding of the direct and indirect drivers of pollinator declines, environmental, economic and societal impacts and delivering an integrated assessment framework as a basis for a portfolio of effective policy and practice solutions.
