Rethinking Arable Farming in a Changing Climate
“Rethinking Arable Farming in a Changing Climate” was organized by the European Landowners Organization (ELO) in collaboration with Bayer, Yara, and Netafim on May 4, 2023. The event brought together leading agronomists in Europe to explore the challenges and opportunities of growing arable crops in a changing climate. The discussions delved into crucial topics such as irrigation, fertilization, and integrated pest management, providing the latest insights and innovations that are shaping the future of agriculture.
We firmly believe in bridging the gap between theory and practice, and therefore, the event primarily focused on providing practical solutions that farmers can implement today to make a tangible difference. Our goal was to address the effects of climate change while also considering social, environmental, and economic sustainability objectives.
Outcomes
As part of the event, an exclusive scientific interview titled "Arable farming needs a systems perspective" was published, featuring three keynote science speakers: Martin van Ittersum, Frank Ewert, and Jorgen Eivind. Olesen. Available here
