CoCo – Co-creating Coexistence
CoCo project brings together an interdisciplinary team of scientists, policymakers, pastoralists, and other stakeholders from 12 European countries to transform entrenched conflicts into opportunities, advancing a future where pastoralism is not only viable but also thrives alongside wildlife populations in diverse, sustainable ecosystems.
CoCo project aims to Co-create, integrate and consolidate a diversity of knowledge forms (from different scientific disciplines, traditional practices, and experience) concerning pastoralism-wildlife interactions as a basis for developing policy recommendations and tools for practitioners to promote a sustainable coexistence in shred multi-functional landscapes. The CoCo Survey: Shaping coexistence between wildlife and livestock
A key component of the project was a large-scale survey targeting pastoralists, hunters, and landowners.
ELO played an active role in disseminating the questionnaire among landowners to ensure that the perspectives of those managing a significant share of Europe’s agricultural and forest land were adequately represented.
With the data collection phase now completed, the project is moving into the analysis stage, with the aim of translating stakeholders’ insights into concrete recommendations.
If you have additional questions about the project, please contact the CoCo Project Coordinator Delphine Dupeux.
