Another push for a forest-based bioeconomy that considers forest owners and managers

On the occasion of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council (29/04/2024), the ELO together with like minded organisations are supporting the Member States push to recognize and include sustainable bioeconomy in the work programme of the next European Commission. The revision of the EU Bioeconomy Strategy in 2025 needs to be at the forefront of a strategy autonomy agenda, which reflects the changed realities of today. It needs to be built on a bottom-up approach, where primary producers such as forest owners and managers have a strong position in the value chain.
