ELO Applauds Withdrawal of Flawed Plant Protection Proposal by European Commission

Brussels, February 8, 2024 — The announcement by President Ursula von der Leyen on the withdrawal of the Proposal for a Regulation on the Sustainable Use of Plant Protection Products (SUR) marks a significant turning point in European agricultural policy. The European Landowners’ Organization (ELO) welcomes this decision, which follows the rejection of the proposal by the European Parliament in the November plenary session of 2023.
