National Meeting of the Wildlife Estates Label 2025
In Paris, at the “Fondation François Sommer” on Tuesday 9 September, more than 115 people gathered in the Jacqueline Sommer auditorium to follow the debates between public decision-makers, private environmental stakeholders, researchers and certified landowners from a network of nearly 100 territories in France and 600 in Europe, representing more than 2 million hectares. This is the largest network of private landowners in Europe.
The Wildlife Estates label supports and promotes private landowners for their exemplary management of biodiversity. In France, these landowners own 75% of forests and 85% of agricultural land: they are key players in nature conservation policies. This label demonstrates that biodiversity and socio-economic activities are not mutually exclusive!
The next day In Seine-et-Marne, the guests discover the Châtillon-La-Borde forest, owned by Peugeot Frères, and the Maison Suisse, owned by the Foundation for Nature Conservation. More than 50 people from all over Europe came to visit two areas that are candidates for the label. It was an opportunity to discover their remarkable environmental actions in practice: restoration of ponds, planting of hedges, naturalist and ecological monitoring, etc. These actions are carried out in partnership with all those involved in nature conservation: owners, hunters, managers, naturalists, etc. Examples to follow!
