Food and Feed Safety Omnibus: Definition of biocontrol substances under Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009

ELO is pleased to support this joint industry letter calling for a clear, science-based and workable definition of biocontrol substances under Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009. Biocontrol solutions play an increasingly important role in helping Europe’s farmers and land managers respond to pest pressure, resistance development and climate challenges, while contributing to more sustainable and resilient farming systems. We welcome the European Commission’s proposal and encourage policymakers to ensure that the future framework remains practical, innovation-friendly and firmly grounded in science.
