JOINT STATEMENT - Urgent need to include EUDR in the Commission Simplification proposals

Copa Cogeca, CEPF and ELO welcomed the decision of the European Commission in December 2024 to extend the start of the entry of the application of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by an additional 12 months and have asked that the focus must shift towards simplification. This call, that we have repeated over the last almost two years, it is linked to our concerns about the regulation’s practical applicability, the substantial administrative burden it imposes on our members and the possible legal uncertainties and diversion of commodity flows that this will create.
