Mikael joined the ELO as a Forest Policy Officer following a peculiar path of economics, investing and publishing. What has remained constant is the interest in society and how it is shaped, as well as the love of nature – likely stemming from his background on the coast near Helsinki, Finland. Having arrived in Brussels, he is keen to discover how the EU really operates, and how ideas turn into concrete policies. When not working he is most likely to be found with a book in hand enjoying a coffee or a local beer, or working out.
