Agricultural Policy & Sustainable Food Systems

2025 marked the publication of major EU initiatives for the future of agriculture, including the Vision for Agriculture and Food, the post-2027 MFF and the future CAP framework.

Throughout the year, ELO advocated for policies that back farm viability, innovation, food security, environmental stewardship and rural vitality.

In 2026, policy discussions are expected to intensify.

  • NGTs may reach a decisive final stage.
  • The Vision for Agriculture and Food must now be translated into concrete action.
  • Work will also continue on the Food and Feed Simplification Omnibus.
  • ELO will remain vigilant on trade to support fair competition and protect European farmers.
